***IMPORTANT REFERENCE BOOK INFORMATION *** 2014 NEC (National Electrical Code) is out of print. The test is still stating it is based on this edition, however we have only a limited number of Code books left. We also carry the newest edition of the NEC and the seminar does teach about navigating any edition of the NEC. We also prepare for the NASCLA Electrical Contractor which Mississippi offers and honors.

Additional Services
The Mississippi Electrician license covers unlimited commercial electrical work. No state level license is required for residential work, only city or county licenses.

The license fee is $200 for the 1st license obtained and $50 each for any additional classifications obtained.
Applications will be reviewed for approval for testing as soon as they are received. After passing the exams the applicant must submit a completed application to the Board for review.
Completed applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the next scheduled meeting to be reviewed at that meeting. The Board meets 4 times each year in January, April, July, and October.
Successful candidates will receive their Certificate of Responsibility or trade license approximately 1 week after approval by the Board.

Mississippi has a limited reciprocity agreement with Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Applicants must have held a license in these states for at least 3 consecutive years.
As of this time Mississippi doesn’t require continuing education for this license.
American Contractors offers a 2 day seminar to prepare you for the Mississippi Electrician license exam. This seminar will cover the National Electrical Code as it applies to your state contractor licensing exam. You will leave prepared for the exam but you will also gain important information that can be applied to your trade every day. Most importantly, each component of your exam will be covered including the math. Test strategy is also covered to ensure you are confident about taking the exam.
