A Concrete Contractor is allowed to install and repair concrete, concrete reinforcing materials, concrete products and accessories common to the industry, including the forming, pouring, and finishing of concrete structures such as footings, foundations, slabs, basements, sidewalks and walkways, driveways and parking areas, fence footings, decorative concrete walls not to exceed four feet in height and retaining walls not to exceed five feet in height and the excavation incidental to the performance of that work.

The State has no reciprocity agreements for this license.
West Virginia does not require continuing education for this license at this time.
Prov will be administering all exam services for the state of West Virginia beginning September 1, 2024.
- Prov administers the exam.
- Business and Law is required.
- It is an open book timed test with 50 questions and a 3-hour time limit.
- A score of 70% is required to pass the exam.
- The exam fee is $59.95 per exam.

Exam topics include: Plan Reading and Estimation, Earthwork and Site layout, Formwork, Reinforcing Steel, Concrete, Specialty Concrete and Safety.
American Contractors does not currently offer a preparation class for the Concrete Contractors exam. However we carry all the required reference materials and study-aids. We do offer preparation for the Business and Law exam. American Contractors offers a General Building Contractor seminar that covers some of the books used on the exam. This seminar would help candidates wanting to take the Concrete test to better use these important references. Please call us for more information.
