Indiana Plumbing Contractors: Trade examinations are required for Plumbing licenses. The exams are given by Prov Inc.

Four years of verifiable experience are also required. All members of a firm, co-partnership, or an association must be individually licensed. 

Insurance is required and Recovery fund fees are $75.00.

License expires every two years and is renewed biennially.

The examination application processing time is approximately three months.

Pre-Approval for this license is required

To become a licensed Plumbing Contractor you must:
Have four-years in an apprenticeship program, OR
Have four-years of experience in the Plumbing trade, OR
Have four-years in the Plumbing business under the direction of a Licensed Plumbing Contractor

The only construction contractors licensed by the State of Indiana are plumbers.

In addition to the State Plumbing Licenses there are lower level licenses available in Indiana.

Reciprocity is not available for journeyman and contractor plumbers Instead, you must present an application and pay the fee. Then the application goes before the board. If board approved you must take the exam and pass.

Currently Indiana does not require continuing education.

American Contractors does not currently offer a preparation seminar to prepare for the Indiana Plumbing classifications. We do carry a full-line of industry specific books and study materials as well as the approved references used for exam.
