Connecticut does not have reciprocity agreements for Electrical Licensing

Electricians must take at least seven hours of continuing education courses each year before license renewal.

The exam is administered by PSI. It consists of 80 questions, multiple choice, with a 3.5 hr time limit. The exam is open book and requires a 70% to pass.

Exam topics include:  General Electrical Knowledge ,Service, Feeders, and Branch Circuits, Grounding and Bonding , Conductors and Cables, Raceways and Boxes, Special Occupancies and Equipment, Electrical Power, Motors, Low Voltage, Lighting, Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, Overcurrent Protection, High Voltage, and Photovoltaics.

The examination may also contain questions based on trade knowledge or general industry practices. Except for Code books, you can base your answers on later editions of references as they become available

Currently, American Contractors does not offer a seminar in the Connecticut area for specific Connecticut licenses. We do, however, carry the approved reference material for your state exam as well as offering an Electrical Course that will help individuals get more familair with the National Electrcial Code.
